Dr. Chris Bayley, Founder and CEO
Dr. Bayley has substantial board level experience across multiple industries and managed international operations in UK, USA and Asia. Chris has expertise in Chinese language and culture, procurement, international marketing, project management, financial management, education management, facilities management, interim management, and knowledge management. Chris is the Founding Partner of PanVenture Consulting and conducted numerous global assignments with PanVenture. Chris has worked with numerous clients to provide international procurement, finance and business solutions for UK and US companies expanding their business in China and to access the Chinese market and distribution channels throughout Asia.
Dr. Bayley has been Chief Executive Officer of PanVenture Consulting Limited UK and previously PanVenture Inc since 2000. He was Director of International at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology’s Sino-British College, and Vice Principal at University of Nottingham China. Prior to that he was Regional Director at KPMG Asia Pacific, and has worked as a Professor of Genetics at Santa Clara University, USA.
Dr. Bayley holds an MBA in Finance at Santa Clara University, USA. He also holds a BSc in Biochemistry, University of Nottingham UK, a PhD in Biotechnology at University of Nottingham UK, and conducted Postdoctoral Research at UC Berkeley, USA, and at DuPont, Wilmington, USA, and has several Peer-Reviewed Scientific Publications including “Nature” one of the world’s leading journals.
Dr. Bayley is currently based in UK and has worked around the world including 12 years in China, 6 years in Taiwan and 5 years in Thailand. Dr Bayley is fluent in conversational Chinese.
Professor Ian Gow, Senior Consultant
Professor Ian Gow is an expert in East Asia and specifically Chinese and Japanese international affairs. He has strongly supported the development of Sino-British relations. Professor Gow was awarded the OBE in the New Year’s Honours List (2007) for his services to British Higher Education in China.
Professor Gow has been Director of Confucius Institute university of Glasgow, Principal and CEO, The Sino-British College, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, China, Executive Dean of Bristol Business School and Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of West England (UWE), UK, Provost (Executive President) and CEO of the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China, Dean of the Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Asia), University of Nottingham, He is a Professor of Asian Business and former Vice-President (Asia) of the University of Nottingham, and Pro-Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the School of East Asian Studies, University of Sheffield. Professor Gow established the Centre of Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Sheffield, was Founding Director of the Institute of Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Nottingham, and Deputy Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Director of the Scottish Centre for Japanese Studies, University of Stirling
Professor Gow was a member of the UK Government’s Office of Science and Technology’s Asia-Pacific Science and Technology Committee, a Member of the Steering Committee of the Economic and Social Research Council’s Pacific Asia Project, and a Fellow of the Royal Society Arts and Commerce and an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Linguists.
